Experiments were carried out for 2 years with seeds brought from Portugal. As a result of successful trials, Tat Konserve ve Sanayii A.Ş. was established with a 65.8% shareholding by Koç Group, 25% by Turkish Sugar Factories, 4.2% by Şeker Sigorta and 5% by Migros.
