Kayalar Kimya was founded as a small business in Istanbul in 1976 by entrepreneur Yılmaz Kayalar, originating from Tokat Erbaa. In the first years, it produced thinner and varnish. It increased its production and market share in the following years.

It is one of the largest furniture paint and varnish manufacturers in Europe with a production capacity of 60 thousand tons.
